Sol “Sollie” Schultz, 94, died on May 18. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 56 years, Thelma “Tibey” (Gilman); daughter, Myra (Arthur); son, Mark; and grandsons: Aaron, Daniel and Jeffrey. Mr. Schultz, a WWII veteran, was a lifelong progressive involved in the peace, civil rights and labor movements. He was a founding member of the Northside Veterans Club and Veterans for Peace in Vietnam. In 1986 at the age of 73, Sol participated in the Great Peace March and walked from New York City to Washington, DC. Donations to Evanston Northwestern Healthcare (ENH) Hospice or progressive organizations such as The Nation Associates would be appreciated.
