James Stephen Summers, age 84, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2007. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor for 10 years and the late Margie for 40 years; loving father of Ronnie (Mickey) Huttenhoff, Amy (Mike) Dorsch, Richard (Judy) Reiter, Nadine McBeth, Donald (Joanne) Reiter and the late Lisa Summers; dearest brother of Bessie Mary Dwight and the late Ferris; cherished grandfather of Cory, Haley, Levi, Jesse, Noah, Emma, Shannon, Aiden, Jena, Derek, Robyn, Christa, and the late Garret; great-grandfather of six; and great-great-grandfather of two; fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. James was a bomber pilot in WWII, flying B-24s in the Army Air Corps. He went to the University of Kansas on a GI Bill and received his masters at the University of Chicago. He moved to Des Plaines in 1959 where he raised his children and was a long time member of First United Methodist Church. Memorial service Thursday, 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 666 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines. Flowers or memorials to American Parkinson Disease Association appreciated. Funeral care by G.L.
