You don’t have to be a ‘cue master to enjoy restaurant-quality barbecue at home. At Great Steaks and More in Bolingbrook, barbecue enthusiasts can buy cooked and uncooked preportioned frozen meats and receive complete instructions on cooking them.

The new shop is owned by Quantum Foods, which sells meat to such restaurant giants as Applebee’s and Olive Garden. In fact, said Jane Fitzjerrell, store launch project manager, the “ribs might be the same as those in Applebee’s.”

Meats come individually wrapped and boxed. Look for USDA prime beef fillet ($39 for four 4-ounce fillets), seasoned steakburgers (nine for $12), chicken breast fillets (plain or marinated, six for $13) and marinated beef, chicken and pork kebabs (eight for $12-$14). Already-cooked items include baby back ribs (two racks for $18) and sliced beef brisket (two 17-ounce packages for $16).
