*Bernard Haitink, principal conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, will make his belated Ravinia Festival debut in July 2008, when he will direct the orchestra in a performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 6. Ravinia will be only the second American summer music festival at which he has appeared, after Tanglewood in Massachusetts. The Dutch conductor is scheduled to lead CSO subscription performances of the Mahler work this October at Symphony Center.

*Some familiar faces will be missing from “Boston Legal” next season. James Spader, William Shatner and Candice Bergen will be back. But Julie Bowen, Mark Valley, Rene Auberjonois and Constance Zimmer will not, a representative for David E. Kelley Productions said Wednesday. John Larroquette (“Night Court”) will be joining the legal team.

*Richie Sambora has left the Los Angeles treatment facility he entered last week, People.com reports. A Bon Jovi rep says the rocker, who recently split with Denise Richards, is doing well.

*Authorities captured two escaped inmates Wednesday in northwestern Montana, including a man once accused of plotting to kidnap David Letterman’s son and nanny in a ransom scheme.
