Charles Anton Macal, 90, a 28 year resident of Sun City, AZ, formerly of Chicago, passed away June 5, 2007. Born in Chicago, Feb. 14, 1917, he was a graduate of Tilden Technical High School and a longtime Chicago Police Department officer. He was a World War II Army Veteran, serving under General George Patton in the North African and Italian campaigns. A personable and dedicated man, he will always be remembered for his devotion to family. He is survived by two sons, Timothy J. Macal Sr. (Joyce) and Dr. Charles M. Macal (Kathryn); grandchildren Amy E. Jambor (Michael), Timothy J. Macal Jr. (Kristen) and Christopher C. Macal; great-grandchildren Ava M. Jambor and Charles J. Jambor. He was preceded in death by wife Dorothy, nee Cepuder and granddaughter Amanda L. Macal. Visitation 9 a.m. June 23 at St. Scholastica Catholic Church, 7800 Janes Avenue, Woodridge, with funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Clarendon Hills Cemetery in Darien. The lives of both Charles and Dorothy will be celebrated at the June 23 services.
