Jack White has something else to say about his dust-up earlier this month with Q101 after it played the White Stripes’ entire, then-unreleased album “Icky Thump.”
He tells MTV that contrary to reports, he didn’t call up and scream or yell at anybody, he was just representing his label when he phoned Chicago to ask why they did it.
“[They reacted] like I called up and threatened to burn down the building or something,” he told MTV.
“When you’re famous, you’re not allowed to have any kind of reaction unless it’s completely positive and saying, ‘I love rainbows and stars,’ on Entertainment Weekly or ‘Entertainment Tonight’ or whatever those shows are called,” he said in a video posted on mtv.com.
“I was having a private conversation with somebody and they wanted to … exploit it.”
