Edith “Edie” Meier, nee Tunis, of Winthrop Harbor, formerly of Chicago, died on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at home. She was born March 1, 1923 in Chicago. She was an avid bowler, exercise walker and enjoyed baking and cooking. Survivors include her beloved husband of 50 years, Robert; children, Susan (Tom) Riley, Pamela Meier, Michael (Rosie) Cahill and Robert M. (Linda) Meier; grandchildren, Aaron Wiens, Shawn Riley, Derek Riley and Sara (Casey) Sargeant; great-granddaughter, Carly Sargeant; and sisters, Elsie Sturrock and June Schulz. Preceded in death by father and mother, Norman and Catherine Tunis. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 6 p.m. at the Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion. Please omit flowers.
