It can take the heat
Williams-Sonoma’s Mesh Grill-Top Frying Pan sizzled on our grills, cooking fish and veggies to perfection. We admired the 12-inch skillet’s sturdy, stainless-steel construction, as well as its ability to fit onto our smallish gas grill. A tiny caveat: The shiny metal turns dull after one visit to the grill. It’s dishwasher-safe and costs $30 by mail at williams-sonoma.com (or call 877-812-6235).
A sweet spread
Alouette Reserve Vidalia Onion Spreadable blends goat’s and cow’s milk cheeses with the mild tang of sweet onion. A 6-ounce container is about $6.80 at Dominick’s and Treasure Island. Other flavors in the line include havarti, baby brie and original.
Main squeeze
The Squeeze from SiliconeZone lets you get the juice of lemons or limes minus the pulp and seeds, and with no sticky juice on your hands, either. Just insert a lemon or lime half into the Squeeze…then squeeze. The gadget’s efficiency is dependant on hand strength, so not everyone will want to use this for large quantities — but it’s great for getting a quick spritz of juice, and it works like a charm. Dishwasher-safe. It’s $6 at Sur La Table in Chicago and Naperville and by mail (800-243-0852 or surlatable.com).
