Cuauhtemoc Blanco scored his first Major League Soccer goal in the 43rd minute, and the Fire beat host Real Salt Lake 2-0 Saturday night.

Matt Pickens made four saves to earn his third straight shutout and seventh of the season.

Blanco took a pass from Ivan Guerrero just outside the penalty box and half-volleyed the ball into the upper right corner of the goal.

Paulo Wanchope headed in a corner kick from Blanco in the 78th minute to make it 2-0.

* U.S. striker Brian McBride dislocated his left kneecap while scoring for Fulham and will be sidelined several months.

The 35-year-old Arlington Heights native slipped while putting Fulham ahead 1-0 in a 2-1 win over Middlesbrough in the Premier League game in London. McBride retired from international play with the U.S. last year.
