New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady missed a portion of practice Thursday because of his chronic right shoulder injury.
Brady, 30, was on the field during the time the media were allowed to view practice, but the team later reported he’d had “limited participation.” For several seasons the two-time Super Bowl most valuable player has been a regular on the weekly injury report with the shoulder problem, which is believed to date to the 2002 season.
Nevertheless, Brady has started 108 straight games, the third-longest active streak among quarterbacks, trailing only Brett Favre’s 257 and Peyton Manning’s 156.
Receiver Randy Moss, who missed all four preseason games with a leg injury, also was limited Thursday. The Patriots listed the reason as “team decision.”
*Cleveland Browns starting cornerback Leigh Bodden pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor charges of aggravated disorderly conduct and resisting arrest as he tried to pick up his girlfriend and their two children at Cleveland’s airport. Police accused Bodden of driving in reverse down a one-way street and becoming verbally abusive.
