*The Phil Spector murder trial jury spent more than four hours deliberating Friday with new instructions by the judge to try to break a 7-5 deadlock. But the panel did not reach a verdict and left for the weekend 45 minutes early. Judge Larry Paul Fidler raised new scenarios for the 2003 death of Lana Clarkson, including the possibility that Spector forced her to put a gun in her mouth and it went off.
*Regis Philbin was overlooked yet again for the “Best Regis” award during the fifth annual Relly Awards, announced Friday on “Live with Regis and Kelly.” The honors went to Neil Patrick Harris, who was among the show’s guest hosts while Philbin was recovering from heart surgery.
