RedEye readers and chicagosports.com visitors had plenty to say about the Bears passing game:

“First question is who calls the offensive plays? No, not Grossman. That’s right, [Ron] Turner. He’s the one that drops the running attack in the first quarter and opts for a pass-only offense for quarters 2-4. … It doesn’t matter who you put in the back-field, without balance play calling pass and RUN, the outcome will always be the same. This is what the football analysts have been alluding to for the past couple of weeks. The Patriots, Colts and Cowboys all use a balanced attack, but apparently Ron Turner knows something they don’t.”

— Mark O’Connor, Lincoln Park

“Look at what [Jon] Kitna is doing for Detroit. There is no reason Griese can’t be as good if not better. Personally I just don’t understand why people were ever that high on Grossman. He’s barely even 6 feet tall and is a statue in the pocket.”

“Let’s face it..Look at Rex’s face .. he has absolutely no confidence, and thus, he can’t lead a team to win. A change needs to be made at quarterback.”

— sickened Bears Fan.

“Rex telegraphs every pass he throws. It’s ridiculous. Griese isn’t the long term answer but neither is Grossman. At least Griese doesn’t ruin our present also.”

— syed

“If Rex is still starting after this heartless performance then we might have to start wondering who is telling Lovie [Smith] to keep him in.” — bearsnlakers

“It’s amusing to me that so many Bears fans think a journeyman QB (Griese) who has been cut three times is capable of leading this very flawed team to a Super Bowl. Open your eyes, folks. The Bears entire offense is poor, not just the QB.” — JB98
