*The Hoops, Heroes & Harlem Ambassadors basketball game will be 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the gym at Deer Path Middle School, 155 W. Deerpath Rd. Lake Forest and Lake Bluff celebrities and community heroes will take on the Harlem Ambassadors, a traveling coed team. *Preschool screenings will be 8:30 to 11 a.m. Oct. 19 in Sprague School, 2425 Riverwoods Rd., Lincolnshire. The screenings are for children ages 3 to 4 for whom there may be concerns in the areas of gross or fine motor skills, speech/language or conceptual development.
