*Tapping into the fear of public humiliation to get Californians to pay up on delinquent state income taxes, the state has released a list of California’s 224 worst scofflaws, including Dionne Warwick, O.J. Simpson and comedian Sinbad. The list says that Simpson of Miami owes $1,435,484 in personal income taxes and that $2,665,305 in personal income taxes is owed by Warwick of South Orange, N.J. Sinbad, who resides in Oak Park, Ill., is listed as owing $2,138,592 in personal income taxes to the state.
*Stephen Colbert has announced his candidacy for president. “I shall seek the office of the president of the United States,” the Comedy Central host declared Tuesday on “The Colbert Report.” “After nearly 15 minutes of soul-searching, I have heard the call,” he told the audience.
*Led Zeppelin may have more music in it. Guitarist Jimmy Page said the gang may write new songs on the back of the London reunion gig next month. Page told The Winnipeg Sun that he would be “really surprised if there wasn’t. We’re musicians — as we’re playing we’ll probably be coming up with all manner of things.”
