An employee in the Cook County recorder of deeds’ office hung copies of $1 bills inside Christmas stockings next to cashier stations, an apparent plea for tips. After the Tribune asked about them, the stockings were taken down. Said Darlena Williams-Burnett, “I manage a bunch of knuckleheads on a daily basis.”
