*HOCKEY: Bryan Little had a goal and three assists, leading the Wolves to a 5-4 victory over the Toronto Marlies at Allstate Arena.

*SKIING: Jean-Baptiste Grange confirmed his status as a rising star, winning the slalom to match Jean-Claude Killy as the only skiers to win two different races on the Lauberhorn course in Switzerland in the same year. The 23-year-old Frenchman won for the second time in two days. Bode Miller finished fifth.

*HORSE RACING: Z Fortune asserted himself as a legitimate contender for the Triple Crown races beating Blackberry Road by 2 3/4 lengths in the Grade III Lecomte Stakes for 3-year-olds in New Orleans. Z Fortune ran the mile in 1:37.79.
