Police arrested a suspect in a fire that destroyed a 610-year-old landmark atop a gate considered to be South Korea’s top national treasure, local news reports said Tuesday. The 70-year-old man was arrested Monday night on Ganghwa Island, the Yonhap news agency reported. Yonhap said police were looking for more than one suspect. No one was injured in the blaze.
