Jeff Teague scored 26 and Wake Forest shocked No. 2 Duke 86-73 Sunday night in Winston-Salem, N.C., ending the Blue Devils’ 12-game winning streak and giving coach Dino Gaudio his first big win since taking over for the late Skip Prosser.

James Johnson added 24 points for the Demon Deacons (16-8, 6-5 Atlantic Coast Conference), who claimed their first victory against a top-five team since they also knocked off the then-No. 4 Blue Devils on Feb. 2, 2005.

Wake Forest forced Duke (22-2, 10-1) into a season-high 22 turnovers.

* Freshman Manny Harris scored a career-high 27 points and DeShawn Sims added 22 to lift Michigan (8-17, 4-9) to an 80-70 Big Ten upset win over Ohio State.

Kosta Koufos scored 18 points and St. Joseph graduate Evan Turner had 16 for Ohio State (17-9, 8-5). It was coach Thad Matta’s first loss to Michigan in eight games.

*Conference USA officials said they are investigating what happened after top-ranked Memphis’ 79-78 victory at UAB, where the Tigers were showered with debris after avoiding an upset.

Cups, water bottles and pompoms were thrown by fans as the Tigers were being escorted off the court Saturday night. The Commercial Appeal newspaper published a photo Sunday showing a fan being slapped and identified the player slapping him as Pierre Niles.

*Darren Collison scored 14 points and No. 6 UCLA (22-3, 10-2) beat Southern California 56-46 to remain atop the Pac-10 standings by a half-game over No. 7 Stanford.

*In women’s games, Candace Parker scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in No. 1 Tennessee’s 81-68 win over No. 25 Vanderbilt. … Crystal Langhorne had 25 points and 12 rebounds to help No. 4 Maryland beat No. 12 Duke 76-69, hours after coach Brenda Frese gave birth to twin boys.
