Soon you can buy a piece of it for yourself — at least, the clothes that give the actor his beach-boy look.
McConaughey is starting his own beachwear line, j.k. livin, named after his production company and personal mantra, “Just keep livin,’ ” Us Weekly reports.
“There’s a perception of me as a beach guy,” the magazine quoted McConaughey saying. The line will include swimsuits, T-shirts and Frisbees. It will be sold through his Web site (matthewmcconaughey.com).
The “Fool’s Gold” actor is the latest star to give his name to a clothing line. He joins Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicky Hilton (whose sister Paris has her name on hair extensions), Katherine Heigl (who is designing scrubs based on her “Grey’s Anatomy” character) and Avril Lavigne, whose line of skater hoodies and skull T-shirts will be sold at Kohl’s stores starting this summer, Us reports.
With so many stars turning their images and names into businesses, RedEye thought of some others who could successfully extend their brands.
