15 RESCUED AT SEA: Fifteen illegal immigrants aboard a boat en route from Mexico were rescued by U.S. authorities off the San Diego coast Wednesday after an apparent botched maritime smuggling attempt. No one was seriously hurt, though some of the passengers on the boat that had drifted for three days were dehydrated, authorities said.
BATHROOM MYSTERY: Authorities in Kansas are considering charges in the case of a woman who sat on her boyfriend’s toilet for two years — so long her body was stuck to the seat by the time the boyfriend called police. Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said it appeared the 35-year-old Ness City woman’s skin had grown around the seat; her boyfriend brought her food and water and asked her every day to come out of the bathroom.
