The vice chairman of International Securities Exchange Holdings Inc. and two other men have been charged with insider trading before ISE’s merger with Eurex AG last year, officials said Thursday.
The U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan said John Marshall and financial consultants Alan Tucker and Mark Larson have been charged with conspiracy and 10 counts of securities fraud. They are principals at Marshall Tucker & Associates LLC in Port Jefferson, N.Y.
The men face up to 20 years in prison on each count of securities fraud. The Securities and Exchange Commission also brought civil charges against the men Thursday.
The charge: Prosecutors have alleged that Marshall, through his position at ISE, obtained non-public material information about its merger with Eurex and fed that information to Tucker and Larson. An ISE spokeswoman and attorneys for all three men declined to comment.
