‘The Omen’

7 p.m., AMC

This elegant little 1976 horror classic hasn’t lost its ability to startle and frighten after all these years. Gregory Peck (right) and Lee Remick star as an ambassador and his wife who open their home to an adorable child, never suspecting the tyke is really the Antichrist. In fact, that may be the only flaw in this otherwise effective chiller: What parent hasn’t wondered from time to time whether he or she is raising a creature from Hades?

‘Gaslight’

7 p.m., TCM

Director George Cukor brings a classy patina to this 1944 big-screen adaptation of the creaky stage melodrama about a woman who begins to fear her husband is trying to drive her mad. Ingrid Bergman won an Academy Award for her portrayal of the mentally tortured wife of a man with a dark secret, while Oscar-nominated Charles Boyer and Angela Lansbury (in her film debut) are equally noteworthy.

‘Glory Road’

7 p.m., TNT

Yet another basketball movie about a coach making a difference. Josh Lucas stars as Don Haskins, a college coach who takes his predominantly black team to the nationals. Based on a true story, this 2006 drama also stars Derek Luke, Jon Voight, Evan Jones, Mehcad Brooks and Emily Deschanel.

‘Kiss of the Dragon’

8 p.m., FX

Written by filmmaker Luc Besson (“La Femme Nikita”), this action-crammed 2001 melodrama sends a Chinese detective (Jet Li, right) after a drug dealer in Paris. Bridget Fonda co-stars as a prostitute who becomes caught up in the chase. Tcheky Karyo also is featured.

‘Coming to America’

9 p.m., Cinemax

Eight years before “The Nutty Professor,” Eddie Murphy (left) flexed his multitasking muscles in this 1988 romantic comedy. He and co-star Arsenio Hall have three roles each in addition to their main ones: an African prince and his pal visiting New York to find a suitable bride. Shari Headley plays the lady he favors, whom he meets in — where else? — Queens. Don’t miss the brief shout-out to another Murphy hit, “Trading Places.”
