The Bears signed receiver Brandon Lloyd, who had lost his job in Washington, and then there was talk they had an interest in running back Chris Brown, who had lost his job in Tennessee before signing with Houston on Thursday. Jeez, how lame is the Bears personnel department and coaching staff that players who can’t start for mediocre or bad teams are considered upgrades around here?

Let me get this straight: The Bears and Mayor Daley agreed to ruin Soldier Field with that spaceship thingy on top of the stadium by foisting on us the idea that it would create revenue streams that the Bears whined about needing to compete in the billion-dollar monopoly known as the NFL — and the Bears are trying to fill all their holes by going dumpster diving?
