‘Altar Boyz’ ends run early
The Chicago production of “Altar Boyz” appears to have collapsed. According to production sources, the musical at the Drury Lane Water Tower Place closed Sunday. “Altar Boyz,” a satirical, concert-style boy-band musical, enjoyed a respectable run of about six months, but had been struggling lately at the box office. It was scheduled to close at the end of March, but to the surprise of those who worked on the show, the producers apparently decided to pull the plug earlier.
