Burbank fire officials on Friday were still trying to determine what sparked two separate residential blazes that killed two women this week.

Fire Lt. David Gilgenberg said the causes might not be known for several days.

The victims were identified as Rose Ann Frances-Kwiatkowski, 71, of the 8100 block of Latrobe Avenue, and Karen Barth, 43, of the 4800 block of West 85th Street, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Both women were pronounced dead after being taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

The first fire, on 85th Street, broke out about 3:30 p.m. Thursday. The fire on Latrobe Avenue broke out about 11 p.m. Thursday.
