Illinois farmers made progress planting crops last week, but statewide figures issued Monday by the USDA indicates only 28 percent of the corn crop is in–just a fraction of the five-year average of 76 percent by this date. The warm weather in place won’t last. Temperatures are to dive later in the week–and a second cool surge is predicted next week.
