Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson made rumor reality Saturday night, tying the knot in a non-denominational ceremony Saturday night at Simpson’s parents’ home in Encino, Calif., a publicist for the couple confirmed to People magazine.
Big sister Jessica Simpson was the maid of honor and Wentz’s dog Hemingway was the ring bearer, People reported. The guest list of 150 friends and family members included Jessica’s boyfriend, Tony Romo, as well as rocker Joel Madden and Nicole Richie.
After the wedding guests were treated to an “Alice in Wonderland”-themed reception that included a cake with a top hat, tea pot and pot of flowers, according to People.
The ceremony had been rumored all week on gossip sites, and chatter began to pick up when delivery vehicles and shuttle vans were seen streaming into the house. And of course, the paparazzi had been gathering before 3 p.m., lingering outside the property.
“We’re delighted to confirm that Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson were married [Saturday] evening in front of family and close friends.”
