TOT KILLED IN FALL: A 2-year-old boy was killed over the weekend when he pulled away from his mother’s hand and fell about 100 feet off a cliff at a North Carolina state park, officials said. Giovani Chavez of Spartanburg, S.C., ran under a boardwalk railing and fell Saturday at Chimney Rock State Park, a state parks spokesman told The Charlotte Observer.
CLIPPED: Police in Houma, La., wouldn’t cut a break to a barber who ran afoul of an obscure law barring him from working Sundays and Mondays. Clyde Scott had opened his shop May 19 just to trim up a few students getting ready for their graduation ceremony when an officer gave him a citation. “I didn’t know it existed,” said Scott, 32, owner of Clippas barbershop. “It’s crazy.”
NO FOWL PLAY: A police officer investigating an apparent break-in at a Kalamazoo, Mich., business instead nabbed a dead 10-pound turkey, police said. The officer noticed that a business’ front window had been shattered and entered the store. Police said the turkey apparently died after flying through the window.
