Playing cards has cost a few famous women some money. Celebrities had it rough at World Series of Poker, with several getting knocked out early at the Ladies no-limit Texas Hold ’em event Sunday in Las Vegas.
That included actress Jennifer Tilly, who in 2005 became the first celebrity to win a gold bracelet at the World Series. She busted out in the first hour of the $1,000 buy-in event, The Associated Press reported. Actress Camryn Manheim of ABC’s “The Practice” and CBS’ “Ghost Whisperer” had the bad fortune of running into Linda Johnson, a pro known as the First Lady of Poker.
Cheryl Hines of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” country singer Mindy McCready and actress Mimi Rogers were eliminated with the other celebrities less than five hours into the three-day tournament. Teri Hatcher of ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” did not play as expected because of personal reasons, a tournament spokesman said.
