Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s communications director, Abby Ottenhoff, said Thursday she will leave her post next month.
She is the latest in a string of aides to the beleaguered governor to announce her resignation. Deputy Gov. Sheila Nix and spokeswoman Rebecca Rausch are among others leaving.
Former Chicago Sun-Times reporter Lucio Guerrero will replace Ottenhoff in the $120,000-a-year post of director of communications.
Ottenhoff, 35, said her departure has nothing to do with the federal investigation of the governor’s administration or the recent conviction of a key Blagojevich fundraiser.
