A 52-year-old man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a two-car crash in the North Center neighborhood on Chicago’s North Side, police said.
Richard Wegener was southbound on Bell Avenue at 12:20 p.m. when he stopped at a stop sign at Irving Park Road, then pulled into traffic without looking and was struck by a westbound vehicle on Irving Park, police said.
Wegener of the 4400 block of North Artesian Avenue was pronounced dead at 12:49 p.m. in Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, a Cook County medical examiner’s office spokesman said.
The driver of the other car was not seriously hurt, police said. No citations were issued.
