We’ve got some good news and some bad news. Which do you want first? OK, we’ll decide.
THE BAD NEWS: To put on a giant music festival like Lollapalooza in Grant Park, you’ve got to have some street closings. We’ve got a handy map down below with all the details. To ease the pain, CTA and Metra will increase service for concert-goers. Metra is adding trips on its Burlington Northern Santa Fe line and more cars on all its other lines that have weekend train service. Details at metrarail.com and at transitchicago.com.
THE GOOD NEWS: A third traffic lane will open in time for the Thursday morning commute in both directions on the Edens between Old Orchard and Lake Cook Roads, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. South of Old Orchard Road, the Edens will have three lanes open in each direction during daytime hours by the end of August, with nighttime closures continuing until the end of September, IDOT officials said.
