If a plain old armchair isn’t enough wiggle room, or at least wiggle, there are rocking chairs and gliders and swivel rockers. And now there are maglev chairs. Or at least one: the Hoverit Lounger, in which you float above the floor, buoyed by magnets. The magnets have some give, we’re told, though the material — rigid clear acrylic, the better to look ethereal — does not seem exactly cushy. Take a look at the chair, as well as glass plate lighting, a self-reassembling humanoid robot and other blue-sky innovations, at the two-week WIRED NextFest exhibition at Millennium Park, presented by the technology magazine.

Hours: 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday through Oct. 12. Free. Millennium Park, Randolph Street at Michigan Avenue. Wirednextfest.com.
