A Chicago man was fatally beaten Sunday morning on the Southwest Side, officials said.

During an argument, Robert Ulmer, 41, was hit in the head by attackers about 1 a.m. Sunday in the 3800 block of West 47th Street. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, said Officer John Henry, a police spokesman.

Ulmer, of the 4000 block of South Maplewood Avenue, died several hours later at Mt. Sinai Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
