St. Charles North 2, No. 1 Larkin 1
St. Charles North (12-8-2) knocked off the Tribune’s top-ranked team behind goals from Alex Bergmann and Angelo Catalano. Zach Hosler made eight saves to preserve the victory. St. Charles moves on to the sectionals, where it will play host Wheaton North at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Larkin finished at 20-2.
At Barrington
Barrington 3, No. 2 Lake Zurich 2 (2 OT)
Taylor Williams scored the game-winning goal (assisted by Noel Irion) in the second overtime as Barrington moves on to the Rockford Boylan Sectional. Barrington’s Ryan Mangone scored the game’s first goal, but Lake Zurich answered just before halftime when Noel Irion fed Nick Janus to tie it 1-1. Janus found the net again late in regulation for a 2-1 Bears lead, but Irion tied the game off an assist from Mangone to send it into OT. Barrington (19-5) will face the winner of the Rockford Guilford regional (between Guilford and Boylan) Tuesday at Boylan. Lake Zurich’s season ends at 18-2-3.
At Elk Grove
No. 3 Geneva 5, Glenbard West 1
Geneva (19-2-1) scored four first-half goals and went on to win its fourth regional title in five years. Shawn Sloan, John McSpadden, Kevin Hilgart, Robbie Johnson and Kendall Spurgin scored for the Vikings, who advance to the Wheaton North sectional and will face Schaumburg at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Goalie Ryan Rudolf (six saves) and the defensive effort from Jabari Danzy, Matt Salasky, Adam Hutchinson and Matt Goedke kept Central off the board. Marian upset No. 2 seed Bloom in the regional semifinals last Tuesday. The Spartans will play host to Andrew at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the sectional semifinals.

Senior midfielder John Stewart scored the game’s only goal off an assist from Paul Neilan. Goalkeeper Chris Vidos made 16 saves for the Crusaders (11-10-1) to earn his fourth shutout. Brother Rice faces Marist at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the sectional semifinal at Marian Catholic. Lincoln-Way East finished at 12-10.

Round Lake won the regional championship behind goals from Cesar Garcia, Gilberto Alfaro and Angel Lira. Josh McNaughton scored the only goal for McHenry at the 4:16 mark of the second half.
