The Saxons (7-5) were down 35-7 with just more than a minute to play in the third when QB Anthony Iannotti (157 yards passing, 99 yards rushing) led his team to four straight touchdowns, including a 15-yard pass to Diante Hackler and 25- and 10-yard passes to Josh Spandiary, the second of which tied the game with 1:26 to play. That was enough time for Bartlett. A 45-yard pass from QB Josh Hasenberg to Alex VanNess fueled the Hawks’ final drive to set up the winning field goal. Bartlett (12-0) had pulled ahead 28-0 at the half behind three touchdown runs and a scoring pass by Hasenberg.

Crystal Lake South 14, Cary-Grove 7, OT (7A): Derek Mortensen’s 1-yard touchdown run gave Crystal Lake South the lead in overtime, then the Gators’ defense stopped Cary-Grove on three straight passing plays for the victory. RB Colin Masterson (91 yards on 20 carries) had given Crystal Lake a 7-0 lead on an 8-yard run in the second quarter. Cary-Grove QB Tyler Krebs connected with receiver Chad McCarren on an 18-yard, third-quarter TD to tie it. The Gators (10-2), who limited the Trojans to one first down in the first half, visit unbeaten Geneva in next weekend’s semifinals. Cary-Grove finished at 11-1.

East St. Louis 35, St. Rita 28 (7A): St. Rita (10-2) jumped out to a 14-0 first-quarter lead and held a 28-7 advantage halfway through the third quarter, but host East St. Louis (11-1) rallied to advance to next weekend’s semifinals. Quarterback Detchauz Wray threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to Kraig Appleton with 2 minutes 45 seconds remaining for the Flyers’ first lead, and Terry Hawthorne’s interception with just more than a minute remaining iced the victory. Antioch 28, Glenbard South 27, OT (6A): Antioch RB Cameron White, who had fumbled at the Glenbard South 4-yard line in the waning seconds of regulation, threw a 14-yard touchdown pass to QB Matt Romani in the first overtime, and Vinnie Holm’s PAT kick was the difference in the victory. After QB Trace Wanless’ 7-yard scoring pass to Austin Teitsma pulled Glenbard South within one in OT, kicker Logan Futris’ point-after attempt narrowly missed wide left. The Sequoits had a chance to win it late in regulation after driving 89 yards to the Glenbard South 4, but Teitsma leveled White on second-and-goal with 14 seconds left to force a fumble and overtime. Host Lemont held Grant to 43 total yards in the first half. Grant (8-4), in the quarterfinals for the first time, cut the margin to 21-7 on a 33-yard pass from Justin Cokefair to Tom Bychowski before Lemont responded with back-to-back TDs — an 18-yard run by QB Nick Lawrence and a 4-yard plunge by Hayes.

All four of St. Francis’ touchdowns were scored following Montini turnovers, including a fumble that Bobowski recovered and returned 25 yards. The senior’s 1-yard TD run three plays later put the Spartans ahead 21-14 with 3:46 to play. Dave Sufranski intercepted a pass by Montini’s Tom DiCristina and returned it 12 yards to set up Bobowski’s final touchdown, a 2-yard run with 1:37 to play.
