Eric Mangini is the new head coach of the Cleveland Browns, a week after being fired by the Jets.
A person with knowledge of the negotiations, who asked for anonymity because the four-year contract wasn’t finalized, said Mangini, 37, will be introduced Thursday.
Mangini, 23-25 in New York, began his NFL career as a ballboy with the Browns in 1994 under then-coach Bill Belichick. He’s also friends with Romeo Crennel, who was fired by the Browns but may stay on as an assistant.
