The Blackhawks’ 7-5 win Monday over the Vancouver Canucks did more than put the Hawks in the Western Conference finals for the first time since 1995 — it put both teams in the history books.

The game’s six combined goals in the third period were second-most in the playoffs in 10 seasons.

After enduring nine goal-less playoff games, Jonathan Toews experienced a breakthrough for himself and the Blackhawks.
