The Bears indeed might have some safety issues in preparation for Thursday night’s game against the 49ers. Starting strong safety Al Afalava is questionable after aggravating a right shoulder bruise while backup Kevin Payne is out with a back injury. That could mean more playing time for Josh Bullocks or Craig Steltz alongside free safety Danieal Manning if Afalava can’t go.
