Employee foils beer theft

Will County sheriff’s police are crediting an employee on break with blocking a man from stealing eight cases and a six-pack of beer from a Homer Glen supermarket.

The employee, outside the store on the 14200 block of Bell Road, recently spotted a man pushing a shopping cart containing the beer. The employee asked to see the receipt, and the “shopper” abandoned the cart and fled to a nearby vehicle.
