Glenbard North’s rushing attack sure looked like a two-headed monster.

Evin Natick and Phil Jackson were too much for West Aurora to handle Friday as the Panthers topped the Blackhawks 34-21.

“Finally, we put a full game together,” Glenbard North coach Ryan Wilkens said. “I thought we got off the football and both backs had a very good night.”

No. 6 Glenbard North (7-0, 5-0 DuPage Valley) led 14-0 with 8:34 to play in the second quarter after Jackson’s second touchdown.

Aurora returned the ensuing kickoff a school-record 96 yards by senior Marcus Waller to make the score 14-7.

Glenbard North’s defense held, however, when Ricardo Gomez missed a 35-yard field goal.

Glenbard North quarterback Mark Ng connected with Mark Szwan for a 47-yard gain on the next possession, setting up a 1-yard touchdown run for Jackson, his third.

Natick ran in a 4-yard touchdown with 7:47 left in the third for a 27-7 lead.

The Blackhawks (3-4, 1-4) came back when quarterback Josh Campbell scored on a fourth-and-goal from the 3 to make it 27-14 after three.

West Aurora coach Buck Drach said Glenbard North’s size advantage was the difference.

“They outweighed our kids 40-50 pounds apiece,” Drach said. “Our kids played pretty well I thought.”
