Alexis Davito decided the best way to help Lockport advance to the regional title match was to take matters into her own hands.

Davito served six consecutive points at the end of the third game Thursday to help No. 8-seed Lockport to a 23-25, 25-20, 25-14 victory over No. 9-seed Naperville North in a semifinal match at the Class 4A Downers Grove South Regional. The Porters (22-14) advance to play top-seeded Benet in the regional title game Saturday at 1 p.m.

Davito, who had 18 points and 14 kills, saved her best for the final game. The senior outside hitter opened the final game with consecutive kills, and wrapped it up with three aces in her six-point service run.

“We have two franchise players as we call them, and she’s one of them,” Lockport coach Julia Hudson said. “She serve-received perfectly tonight, in the right place at the right time. She’s the real deal. At the very end, she executed.”

Davito shifted her serving at the end of the third game, electing not to use her jump serve.

“When I’m down, I usually can place it a little better,” Davito said. “We just needed to get the ball down and rewind it.”

The Huskies (20-16) won the first game after trailing early. In the second game, Naperville North led 18-17 before the Porters received two kills and a block by Davito in an 8-2 run to force a third game.
