Two weeks after controversial Buffalo Grove Trustee Lisa Stone was removed from office in a recall ballot, village trustees Monday voted unanimously to reprimand Village President Elliott Hartstein for donning a black wig and parodying Stone at an election-night party.
Trustee Steven Trilling read the resolution reprimanding Hartstein for violating the village’s code of behavior and conduct. “President Hartstein conducted himself in a manner to demean and show disrespect for Lisa Stone,” the resolution concluded.
Hartstein made a public apology to Stone the morning after the recall vote and apologized again Monday, both to Stone, who was in the audience, and to his fellow elected officials.
