A 29-year-old man is accused of handling a gun that discharged, firing a bullet that went through the wall of a South Loop residence and grazed another man.
The shooting happened about 8:46 p.m. Sunday in the building located in the 0-99 block of East 8th Street, said Chicago Police Officer Ron Gaines, a police spokesman.
Jonathan Hughel, of the same address, is charged with reckless conduct and not having a valid firearm owners identification card, both misdemeanors, police said. He was also cited for failing to register a firearm.
Police said the bullet traveled through a wall and grazed the victim. The man was not seriously wounded, police added.
