CLASS 4A

Cary-Grove 14, Dundee-Crown 7

Glenbard West 5, St. Charles East 1

No. 6 Glenbrook North 3, Loyola 0

Peter Resnick tossed a no-hitter, allowing just a single walk and striking out 10, to earn the win for Glenbrook North (32-3). Brett Synek (2-for-3, R, RBI), Chad Bruce (1-for-2, RBI) and Jack Day (1-for-3, RBI) led the offense.

Lincoln-Way East 3, Lincoln-Way North 0

Matt Rosenberger went 1-for-2 with 2 RBIs and Alec Ornelas had a hit and an RBI for East (24-11). Mark Chemello tossed a complete game, striking out 4 to get the victory on the mound.

No. 4 Mount Carmel 12, Clemente 2 (6 innings)

Tom Hayes had a 3-run home run and Sam Kint went 3-for-4 with a 2-run homer for Mount Carmel (30-6). Tyler Laurisch earned the win, going all 6 innings and striking out 5.

Prospect 5, St. Viator 3

Peter Bonahoom hit a 2-run homer in the 5th inning to break a 3-3 tie. Jack Landwehr went the distance for the win, allowing no earned runs and striking out 8 for Prospect (24-8).

No. 1 Providence 5, Neuqua Valley 2

Brandon Magallones earned the win on the mound for Providence.

CLASS 3A

Jones 6, University 5

Matt Sax went 6-2/3 innings to earn the win for Jones. He also had 2 hits at the plate.

CLASS 4A

Andrew 6, Homewood-Flossmoor 3

Kelly Christner had 4 hits, scored twice and drove in a run for Andrew (28-9). Jenna Lena added a double and 2 RBIs in the win. Brooke Hofer earned the pitching victory, allowing 4 hits and striking out 5.

No. 5 Cary-Grove 5, Jacobs 0

Lindsey Efflandt earned the win for Cary-Grove, going all 7 innings, allowing just 2 hits and striking out 6.

Downers Grove South 10, Naperville Central 0 (5 innings)

Jenny Nichols went 2-for-3 with a triple and 4 RBIs and Alicia Bozek was 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs for Downers Grove South (28-6). Marissa Mersch continued her assault on the IHSA hit record, going 1-for-2 to put her 2 hits away. She took two intentional walks in the win.

Glenbrook South 8, Glenbrook North 1

Lake Zurich 4, Palatine 0

Winning pitcher Megan Mattera (CG, 3 H, 5 K) went 3-for-3 with a home run and 2 RBIs for Lake Zurich (23-7). Mallory Parsons went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored in the win.

Mother McAuley 6, No. 7 Trinity 5

Mother McAuley’s Caroline Usher scored the winning run in the bottom of the 7th inning on a wild pitch. Megan Bush and Alex Raske each had 3 hits in the win.
