Two people were injured late Thursday night in a fire that broke out in an Uptown neighborhood high-rise building.

Firefighters were called about 11:40 p.m. to 4640 N. Sheridan Rd., according to fire Media Affairs.

The fire broke out in an electrical room on the first floor, according to preliminary reports.

A 43-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl suffered smoke inhalation and were taken to an area hospital in stable condition, officials said.
