A woman slapped by her Rogers Park boyfriend Thursday evening called police after the incident to tell them the man’s adult son had an illegal gun, authorities said.
Now both the boyfriend, Byron Carr Sr., 51, and his son, Byron Joseph Carr, 20, face criminal charges. Carr Sr. is charged with domestic battery and his son is charged with unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a defaced firearm, marijuana possession and illegal possession of ammunition.
Carr Sr. slapped the woman about 7 p.m. at the home he shares with his son in the 1700 block of West Juneway Terrace, according to police. The woman then called 911 and told police that Byron Joseph Carr had a gun.
Officers responded to the call and arrested the two Carrs, who were scheduled to appear for bond hearings today.
