Eleven teachers and seven support staff would be eliminated in Elmhurst Community District 205, fees would be increased and class sizes would be slightly increased under a new budget approved for the 2011-2012 school year.
The $109.5 million budget approved by the school board Tuesday includes about $3 million in cuts.
“The budget was not accomplished without some sacrifice from a variety of stakeholders,” said Chris Welton, assistant superintendent for finance and operations.
