President Barack Obama this week announced three new resources to help veterans find jobs.
*The “Gold Card” is a downloadable certificate, available at dol.gov/vets/goldcard.html, that provides post-9/11 veterans with up to six months of personalized case management and job counseling at 3,000 career centers operated by the U.S. Department of Labor across the country.
*The website mynextmove.org/vets allows veterans to enter their military occupation to learn about civilian jobs for which they could be qualified. Information about salaries, education and training programs is also listed.
*The Veterans Job Bank, at nationalresourcedirectory.gov/home/veterans_job_bank, is a searchable database listing hundreds of thousands of jobs posted by companies looking to hire veterans.
