A 2-year-old girl was reported in good condition after a TV fell on her at her residence in west suburban Aurora, officials said.

The accident happened about 2:50 p.m. on the 100 block of South Union Street, police said.

A box-like television fell from a bookshelf and struck the girl, who was being babysat by her uncle, police said.

The uncle had been baby-sitting four children in the home — a 6-year-old boy, the 2-year-old girl, an 18-month-old boy and a 17-month-old girl — and was in another room tending to the 17-month-old when he heard a loud sound, police said. When the uncle investigated, he found the 20-inch TV set had fallen on the 2-year-old, who had initially been reported as being 4 years old.

The girl was taken to Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora where she underwent CT scanning that determined there were no apparent fractures, police said. As a precaution, she was taken to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for observation.

Police said there was no foul play in the accident and no one will be charged.
